Outstanding footage of Tabu Ley and his tres risque ‘Leyettes’ filmedin Kinshasa by Albert Maysles, director of the Rolling Stones documentary “Gimme Shelter”, Immediately after this concert the two dancing “Leyettes” were arrested for indecent exposure and public lewdness Tabu Ley to pay a heft…y fine for their release.
It is footage from a film released last year called ‘Soul Power’ which documented the likes of James Brown and BB King visiting Kinshasa in ’74 for a celebration concert for the Rumble in the Jungle boxing match, the match was postponed but the concert went ahead – it is on dvd but unfortunately we don’t have it in stock…yet
